December Advent Day Six: Get to Know Scotty Girl Design

Shannon of Scotty Girl DesignThis month, in recognition of our site’s opening, we’ve decided to combine December Advent with a fun “Get to Know Our Designers” event. Each day, you’ll get a chance to learn about one of the amazing members of our Design Team.

It’s Day Six, and today you get to learn more about Shannon McNab of Scotty Girl Design. She’s got a fun, graphic design style that we know you will love, and her products are colorful, playful, and easy to scrap with (she’s also our resident go-to girl for all things Disney)! 😉

 

5 FUN FACTS

  1. I was my high school’s mascot, Pricilla Panther, during my junior year of high school. Go panthers!
  2. Before becoming 100% self employed in 2013, I worked for Pottery Barn for two years as a designer in their marketing department.
  3. If I hadn’t injured my hip in junior high from a freak cheerleading accident, I would have pursued a career as a professional dancer… hopefully on Broadway.
  4. I had the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere of Pirates of the Carribean 3: At World’s End at Disneyland and it was AH-MAZ-ING!
  5. I’m a card-carrying member of the Sourtoe Cocktail Club at the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City, Yukon. If you don’t know what that is, you’ll definitely want to click here to find out! 😉

5 FAVORITE THINGS

  1. Pizza Toppings: Pepperoni, Pineapple, and Black Olives. It sounds gross, but the combo is amazing, trust me!
  2. TV Show: Game of Thrones, Scandal, and Downton Abbey – because I can’t just pick one.
  3. Movie: Gone with the Wind. It may be 75 years old, but I still haven’t found a movie that is as epic.
  4. Disney Character: Flynn Ryder from Tangled. He’s the sassiest, most real male character Disney has ever had.
  5. Color Combo: Aqua and Coral. Coincidentally enough, these were my wedding colors.

MY FAVORITE PRODUCT

Right now I’d say probably my Brainiac Kit. I don’t think I’d ever included that many hand drawn doodles in a kit before, and while I spent a full day getting the doodle paper to look just right, I totally fell in love with it!

    Oh, to choose just one!? The Recipe Maven Collection calls to me and my love of baking. The Sourtoe Cocktail Club cracks me up and is just a little disgusting. 🙂

    I can imagine how exciting the premier was and if you saw Orlando Bloom {sigh}. Although there are many wonderful kits and journal cards I have to narrow it down to just one – Love the F-stop kit!

    I love Shannon.s stuff too especially her 2014 fall collection and all the journal cards she has made for her kits and collections, I think they are gorgeous and have used them quite a bit. Her stitched grid templates are mega too

    It’s so hard to pick just one, but I suppose since I have to I would pick Count Your Blessings. I know I would definitely get a lot of pages out of that kit. I have many blessings to be thankful for!

    Oh, I love Brainiac! I always love school themed kits. I love the 2014 Fall kit. The colors are just gorgeous and I love family themes. I also love the veneer bits – all of them. You really have some beautiful kits! Thanks for the chance to win!

    My favourite designer at the moment! The kit I have used over and over these last few months has been 2014 Summer. I can’t articulate why I love it so much, but I do and my recent pages certainly prove that!

    So jealous of the POTC red carpet premiere. If you say Johnny Depp was there I may have to dislike you. 😉 And you can keep your toe drink…but if I’m ever in Dawson City I may have to give it a try…just because.

    I feel like I keep repeating myself on each designer. But I love them all. It’s like the Digital Press took all MY favorites and put them in one place (thank you BTW).

    I love Scotty Girl’s embellishments. That Brainiac kit is one of the few I don’t have!
